Ab0ut Al Burzynski

Today is a good day.  I’m on the right side of the ground, standing up and proud, and given another chance to make a positive difference in the lives I touch, creating the future with like-minded passionate people who share my values and passions while being a part of the win.

With every breath, I will continue to lead by example, uphold the Army core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage (LDRSHIP), and live life with the attitude of the only thing I can’t overcome is death.

My name is Al Burzynski, and I’m a walking contradiction.

I’m a son of a Polish-American World War II and Korean War Veteran who grew up during the Great Depression and dropped out of school in the eighth grade to take care of his family.  My mother met my father in Japan during the war, they wed and came to America.  The former Ms. Okomoto knew little English when she first arrived in America in 1957, but as a testament to her character and patriotism, she earned her American citizenship in 1977.

Growing up poor and different in a small town, Junction City, Kans., just outside Fort Riley, faced my share of discrimination and socio-economic challenges many disadvantaged youth from culturally diverse backgrounds faced in their quest to realize their American dream.

Stereotypes and the adage perception is reality until proven otherwise, played a crucial role in shaping my life as a youth and throughout my career as a strategic public relations, communication, and marketing expert.

As a disabled Army Veteran, have learned one joy dispels a thousand worries, and having humor helped me cope with pollock jokes that are part of our popular culture.  Usually, when people meet me, they ask about my ethnicity.  They are confused about how a man of my physical stature at 6’3 can be of Japanese lineage.  I politely inform them, my last name is Burzynski and I am Japanese from the waste up and 100 percent American.

Over the years, my analytical thinking abilities have been sharpened, allowing me to become an effective public relations strategist, and my real power lies in my capacity to be a visionary creative thinker with the capacity to adapt, improvise and overcome, strongly influenced by working alongside military leaders, and championship-winning athletes and coaches.

I'm a huge lover of animals.

During my life have accumulated many accolades, told many stories, and contributed to the achievement of many for-profit and non-profit organizations over my 30-year professional life.  My biggest achievement is being able to communicate with individuals from all walks of life.

In all, hope I've gained the privilege of your valuable time and want the opportunity to explore doing great things together as a part of a team or building on our new relationship.
